Catherine was invited to reimagine Longhi’s \u003cem data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"595\"\u003eAdoring the Child\u003c\/em\u003e (1605), and was struck by the tenderness in the Madonna’s expression and the luminous golden tones of the palette.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"1032\"\u003eIn her contemporary interpretation, Catherine incorporated gold leaf to illuminate the figure and silver leaf for the background, while applying her signature gilded border technique.
